You may find saree as uniform in few Hospitality industry. Certain Hotels, A Government owned Airline, some government offices.
Sarees are still very much a part of daily wear for house wifes in some parts of India.

Even if offices who are open to any formal dresses, on special occasions like Diwali/ independence dayetc, HR keeps traditional day where most girls you will see wearing sarees and guys in kurta pyjama.
In fact, sari, when draped primly pleated, is considered the Indian formal attire for females. So all the Indian delegates, female high officials, women defence personnel, most women politicians, many sportswomen & celebrities can be seen wearing saris to all important occasions, events, awards ceremonies and formal occasions.
Sari, at a time, used to be the most important work attire too for women in India. Many sectors still insist that their female work force wear sarees on a regular basis as their work uniform
